Detergent Powder Plants

40,000 ton/yr

Process Description

Sulphonic acid manufactured at the Sulphonation plant is neutralized and mixed with STPP, Sodium sulphate and many minor ingredients in a crutching vessel. The paste is fed to a De-aerator and then transferred by High pressure feed pumps to a counter-current spray dryer which is heated by a direct fired gas burner. The dryer is fitted with a series of nozzles to distribute the feed liquor. The powder product is collected at the base of the dryer and conveyed to an intermediate product Silo. This base powder is metered, along with other powder and liquid ingredients into a Plough Mixer before being filled into cartons or Big Bags.
